So, Friday was a pretty momentous day in American history (for some people, at least). Congrats to all of the same-sex couples that can now enjoy the same basic Constitutional rights as their heterosexual brethren. Every time we've tried to exclude groups of people from the common constellation of civil rights and liberties that define the United States of America, history has always proven that we were wrong to do it.
Over the years, I've written about some of the cases that paved the way for Friday's Obergefell decision. I figure it's worth a trip down memory lane. In another 20 years, people will wonder what the big deal was - like with interracial marriage.
